Description
The cheese board is part of the project “Dressed in wood”, designed by Marcel Wanders. A natural material, beech wood, shaped by artisans, is characterised by knots and veins that make each piece slightly unique. The cheese board can be also used with a domed cover in clear thermoplastic resin with wooden knob. The collection “Dressed in wood”, designed by Marcel Wanders, consists of a personal breakfast board, a serving board, two trays, a cheese board, a cake stand, a domed cover in clear thermoplastic resin with wooden knob and a big round centrepiece. “Dressed in wood” is a collection made by artisans in Valle Strona, where the production of wooden artefacts is documented as far back as the sixteenth century. This Valley drops down to Lake Orta, where Alessi is headquartered.

Marcel Wanders
Marcel Wanders grew up in Boxtel, the Netherlands, and graduated from the School of the Arts Arnhem in 1988. Marcel Wanders’ fame started with his iconic Knotted Chair, which he produced for Droog Design in 1996. He is now designing for the biggest European design manufacturers like Droog Design and Moooi of which he is also art director and co-owner. Founded in 2000, Moooi has grown into an internationally renowned design label. Additionally, he works on architectural and interior design projects. Various designs of Marcel Wanders have been selected for the most important design exhibitions in the world. Coverage on Marcel has been published in all leading design magazines and newspapers.
